ZOUL made a sound installation in the big pool room at Stattbad Wedding during the Wedding Kultur Festival on the 24th/25th of September, 2011.
Sound basis of the installation were modified and altered noises and field recordings taken from the streets of Wedding, Berlin. Additional voices repeating the words: “Room”, “Sound”, “Time” and “Haze” were added to reflect the recent changes occurring in this borough of Berlin and the new usage of the exhibition room which was a public swimming pool in the past and that serves as a cultural venue today.
High pitched sounds were placed in a small, bright room above the pool corresponding to deep frequencies that filled the big pool room.
