„A VOCHEL WO RED“ is a composition about the tradition of animal sound imitation.
Due to its importance to identify different species of birds, the work focusses on birdcalls. Barthel and Schimkat take the acoustic fabric of nature sounds and soak into the vast supply of information within, to abstract in their very own manner with noises, voices, flutes, bird cages, seeds and a record player.
